Travel Guide

GETTING TO BALI

Please book your flights to Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). For our guests traveling from the US, please note there are no direct flights, so expect a layover in cities like Singapore or Taipei. International visitors will also need a Visa on Arrival (~$35 USD), which can be paid at the airport counter or applied for in advance at evisa.imigrasi.go.id.

ABOUT BALI

Weather

September is fantastic in Bali. It is the tail end of the dry season, so expect plenty of sun, humidity, and temperatures around 27°C (80°F).

Essentials

For getting around, download Gojek or Grab (the Uber equivalents of Southeast Asia) for taxis and food delivery. When in Bali, be mindful of what you eat and drink: stick strictly to bottled water, and choose food from established restaurants or street stalls with high turnover. Be aware that traffic is notoriously heavy here, so always plan for trips to take longer than expected.

ACCOMMODATION

Our wedding ceremony and reception will be held at SKY Ayana. We have a block of rooms reserved for guests at RIMBA by Ayana. Alternatively, for our groups of friends, we recommend booking a private villa in the Jimbaran or Uluwatu area to stay together.

FAQ

Welcome Dinner: No dress code, but dinner will be outside on the beach, so come dressed for both sunny daytime and cool nighttime (light jacket recommended).

Wedding Day: Resort Formal — think elegant and colorful, but comfortable for an outdoor tropical setting! See this link for inspo, but wear whatever makes you comfortable and don't forget your sunnies 😎☀️

Day After Beach Hangout: No dress code, but swimsuits are recommended.
We love your little ones, but besides the kiddos in the wedding party, the wedding will be an adults-only celebration (although we are happy to accommodate them for the welcome dinner and goodbye beach hangout). If you would like to bring your kids to Bali with you, please contact Alex so we can discuss room accommodations and childcare within the resort.
Unfortunately, space is limited and only named guests on the invitation will be able to attend. Please refer to your invitation for details. If you have any questions, please contact us!
Nope! Your presence is the only gift we need (and we know how annoying going to destination weddings can be).
Please let us know your dietary needs when you RSVP, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
You'll notice that there are no direct flights to Bali from the US. However, there are many different layovers, and if you want to extend your trip and explore some of Asia these are wonderful places to stop on your way in or out! Some of the most common layovers are: Singapore, Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. Alex and Frank's recommendation: stop by Singapore on the way in, spend 2 days exploring the city, and then do a week in Taiwan (Taipei) or Japan (Tokyo) on the way out!
Frank and Alex will be arriving in Bali a few days before the wedding to finish preparations, so they won't be available to meet up before the welcome dinner—but they can't wait to celebrate with everyone once the festivities begin!
No problem, please reach out to Frank or Alex on Whatsapp, and don't forget to join the wedding Whatsapp for live updates.
